Work

Sufism cannot be explained. Simply because it has to do with Life itself. How can you explain Life?

Sufism tries to reflect Life in his totality, truth, simplicity, and is based on love, knowledge, wisdom. It has to do with forgiveness, praising, in remembrance of what is the purpose of our life and of our situation on Earth.

Sufism is not a philosophy that you agree with and you adapt to your life style; it is a radical life style you adapt to.

It is a hard work to surrender. This is why the dervishes call the path, ‘the Work’. Because it will radically change you. In the moment that love, truth, grab your heart, you cannot stay the same. It is a life matter and again, it is a Love affair. It is a colour you take. Sufism is the colour of Love.

Sufism does not require asceticism, retirement from life. Instead it sees the world as the training place for the spirit. The dervish has a social life, he works and has a family, but in his heart he tries never to depart from the divine presence, believing it is his origin and destination.

In the tradition it is said that to make the Work you need to cook your heart. It has to become soft, and to do this a fire is needed. Only a lit candle can pass the flame to another candle. Only a Shaykh can make you a useful tool of the higher will. You are the living result of where your personal will has brought it up till now. If you are not happy with that, maybe now you wish to experiment a new direction. And when you are ready maybe it is the moment you meet a Sufi master.

There are not many masters around. You have to long to meet one, you have to burn for it, and you have to be willing to accept one over you. If you are not ready to do that, even if a saint sits next to you, you will not be able to recognize him and to benefit.

SUFI  SPIRITUALITY, TALES, SINGING, CHANTING, with Live Music

Sufism is an ancient radical lifestyle based on love, knowledge and wisdom. Transcending all religions,  the objective of this workshop is to bring participants to their own joyful experience of who they really are as a divine part of the mystical Whole.

Through traditional, yet contemporary Sufi practices such as singing and chanting, they will be led to share an authentic experience, opening their hearts to the mysticism and beauty of life, indeed to themselves.

Transmitting through his inspired teachings, singing and storytelling – traditional Sufi wisdom as well as episodes from his own adventurous life – Shaykh Burhanuddin will  infuse divine love into the hearts of participants,  allowing them to simply be, beyond personality constraint.

Via a magical mix of humour, light heartedness and dynamic interaction, participants will be guided to recognize themselves beyond their conditioning, the veil of illusion that tells them that they are separate from the Whole, from God. Inevitably they will be gently nudged to turn into a wider orbit of all-pervading love, which can then be realized in daily life.
